Subject: Calendar of Activities to commemorate 150" Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi — reg.
I am directed to say that Government of India is celebrating 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi from 2nd October, 2018 to 2nd October, 2019. It has been decided that the following activities may be organized under Mid Day Meal Scheme to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi .
i) Organisation of "Tithi Bhoj" on 02.10.2018 and 02.10.2019.
ii) `Swachlita Drive' in kitchens for one week (in each month) from 02.10.2018 to 02.10.2019.
iii) 'Cleanliness Drive' for kitchen sheds and utensils in the month of November. 2018.
iv) Efforts towards extensive use of I.PG and reducing the use of fire wood under Mid Day Meal Scheme during the month of December. 2018.
2. It is requested that the States and Uts may kindly forward the calendar of activities to this Department by 5" October. 2018. It is further requested that necessary action may also be initiated immediately for organizing the above activities and furnish report thereof on monthly basis by 5th of every month.
