Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh aims to transform its state education system. Through academic, co-curricular and digital activities, the state will create a positive shift in the socio-economic health of its population as articulated in Vision 2029. The mission of the Department is to equip children of the State with specified knowledge, skills, and values to enable them to become good human beings and productive, socially responsible citizens and to achieve excellence in whatever they do.

The department directly manages 62,000 schools and 2.8 Lakh teachers in the state. The Department plays an eminent role in the physical and mental development of all pupils studying in schools. The Government of Andhra Pradesh is giving utmost importance to school education by strengthening the existing infrastructure for all government schools with the government flagship program Manabadi Nadu-Nedu, streamlining the Mid-Day meal program by revising the menu.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh's motive and focus is to provide education to all children. Keeping in view the focus and motive to provide age-appropriate education to all out-of-school children, we have developed an online initiative to see the progress of the various strategies implemented to mainstream Out-of-School Children. In this work line, AP Samagra Shiksha has developed a digital application namely “Nenoo Badikipotaa” (I will also go to school) for identifying, mainstreaming and tracking Out of School Children developed with the support of UNICEF, AP.

The Government has also implemented the scheme “Jagananna Ammavodi” - a program to encourage parents to send their children to school by providing financial assistance. “Jagananna Vidya Kanuka”- providing a unit comprising of three sets of garbs, course readings, journals, a couple of shoes, two sets of socks, belts, and a school sack to class 1st-10th classes. Running special hostels like RSTCs, NRSTCs, and Seasonal Hostels for these out-of-school children. All these dedicated efforts are intended to bring in a radical transformation of school education with a long-time objective of preparing the students of Andhra Pradesh for global citizens with a bright future.
