Swachha Andhra Day – Reg.

As per the Government Orders and the
directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the third Saturday of every month is
being observed as “Swachha Andhra Day” across all districts, ULBs, and
Government institutions to promote the values of cleanliness, public hygiene,
and citizen participation.
Accordingly, Swarna Andhra – Swachha
Andhra (SASA) program for the month of February 2026 is scheduled at Vinukonda,
Palnadu District on 21.02.2026 with the theme “Zero Litter Governance.” All
districts are requested to organize focused and result-oriented activities on
21st February 2026, aimed at empowering communities for clean, litter-free
spaces through daily zero-waste habits, strengthening localownership to sustain
a healthier, confident, and cleaner environment.
Suggested Activities:
> Conduct Zero-Waste awareness drives
focusing on 100% source segregation and daily litter-free habits.
> Organize ward-level and
village-level clean-up drives targeting identified litter hotspots.
> Strengthen door-to-door collection
systems and ensure strict segregation of wet, dry, and domestic hazardous
waste.
> Promote home composting, community
composting, and decentralized waste processing units.
> Ensure operationalization and
demonstration of MRFs and RRR Centers.
> Launch “Litter-Free Ward/Village”
campaigns with measurable targets and public recognition.
> Conduct school and college
awareness programs on zero-waste lifestyle practices.
> Encourage SHGs, sanitation workers,
and informal waste workers to adopt zerowaste micro-enterprise models.
> Enforce anti-littering measures and
create awareness on penalties for violations.
> Promote alternatives to single-use
plastics and eco-friendly practices.
> As per Government instructions RRR
centers have to be made functional in all ULBs where in E- waste collection
shall be taken up on 20th of this month as a Special campaign activity.
> Organize competitions such as Best
Clean Ward, Best Zero-Waste Institution, and Best Segregated Colony.
> Document before-and-after
transformation of public spaces and display success stories.
Implementation & Reporting
Guidelines:
> Ensure participation of all
District and Zonal Special Officers.
> Assign the Chief Planning Officer
(CPO) as District Nodal Officer for monitoring and reporting through the SASA
App.
> Encourage inter-departmental
coordination for effective execution.
> Involve Elected Representatives,
Educational Institutions, SHGs, RWAs, and Civic Organizations.
> Submit documentation and success
stories with photographs, video reels, and activity-wise metrics on the SASA
platform.
All the District Collectors are
requested to ensure effective execution of the above activities on 21.02.2026
and encourage maximum public participation. Necessary instructions may be
issued to all concerned departments, institutions and local bodies.
Further, District Collectors are
requested to take up planning and coordination meetings to ensure participation
of all line departments, ULBs/RLBs, institutions, schools, and public
representatives. The outcomes are to be documented and reported with
photographs, video reels, and activity-wise metrics.
